🤝 Sportsmanship & Conduct

Good sportsmanship is a must in this league. You will be kicked out without a refund if you do not abide by the following rules. If you feel like you're getting worked up, remove yourself from the court.

🚫 Unsportsmanlike Behavior

- Aggressive Push with Intent to Fight: Suspension from the game and possibly the season. League suspension is decided by the league.

- Hitting/Aggressive Contact with Another Player: Suspension from the league with no refund. Duration of suspension is decided by the league.

General Conduct Rules

Officials & staff have the authority to give warnings, suspend, or eject players, substitutes, and spectators if necessary.

We expect respectful communication between players, referees, and opponents. This is an adult league, and while competition can get intense, let’s keep things cool. Disrespectful behavior can lead to disciplinary action, so play hard—but with class.

Alcohol will be available but drink responsibly. Must be 21+ to drink.

- Arrive Early & Be Ready. Please aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before your game starts.

- Check-In at the White Claw tent.

- Find your court & get started!

❌ Forfeits

- Results in a 3-0 loss.

📊 League Standings & Schedules

- Standings: Updated regularly on the website.

- Schedules: Posted online. Check frequently for updates or field changes.

- Game Times: Not guaranteed; based on field availability.

🌧️ Rain-Out / Cancellation Procedure

- Check Open Sports Announcements for updates and social media.

- If no announcement is posted, report to the field.

- Referees will stay until the last game is played to full time or terminated.

- Rescheduling: Unlikely due to year-round scheduling but will do what we can.

⏱️ Scorekeeping & Timekeeping

- Timing - Performed on the field by the administrator.

- Scorekeeping: Performed by the team captains.

- Captains need to upload scores into the Open Sports App before they leave the facility. Any discrepancies need to be handled at the courts.

Determination of Season Standings & Winnings

- Regular season standing will be determined by how many match wins you had.

- 3 matches will be played per night. Each match needs to be recorded.

RULES SPECIFIC TO THIS CORNHOLE LEAGUE

Game Basics

Game Time: 20 minutes per game.

Board Distance: Boards placed 24 feet apart (front-to-front).

Winning the Game:

- First team to reach 21 points wins.

- No penalty for going over 21 (you do not go back to 15).

Time Expiration:

- If time expires before a team reaches 21, the team with the higher score wins.

- If tied when time expires, one full extra round will be played to break the tie.

Gameplay Rules

Teams: Doubles format (2 vs. 2). Singles allowed if necessary.

Throwing:

- Teams alternate throws until all 8 bags are tossed (4 per player).

- Throw from behind the front of the board (the foul line).

Scoring:

- Bag in the Hole = 3 points.

- Bag on the Board = 1 point.

- A bag hanging off the front counts as 1 point if not touching the ground.

- A bag that hits the ground first, even if it bounces onto the board, does not count.

- Dead Bags: A bag resting on a bag that touches the ground does not count.

- Cancellation Scoring: Only the point difference is scored each round.

Self-Officiated: Players are responsible for calling their own scores and fouls honestly.

Important Gameplay Notes

Foot Faults:
Players must stay completely behind the foul line. If a player steps over, that bag scores zero points.

Bag Interference:
Once bags are thrown, do not touch any bag until scores are confirmed. If a bag is moved early, it counts as zero points.

Distractions:
No intentional distractions (yelling, waving, blocking sight) during an opponent's throw.

Overtime/Tiebreaker:
If the game is tied after 20 minutes, one final full round is played. Highest net score from that round wins.

Substitution & Equipment Rules

Substitutes:

- Players are allowed to have someone sub in for them during any regular season week.

- No substitutes allowed during the final week (playoffs and championship games).

Bags:

- Standard cornhole bags will be provided by the league.

- Players are welcome to bring their own bags if they prefer but must meet the standard size and weight specification of ACA guidelines.
